![]() It's astonishingly easy to start it lights up with the first match, and there is almost no smoke except when you've just added wood. We have the Breeo 19 series X, and it's delightful. Has anyone used either? i'd be looking at the smaller models for the yard. Sometimes we put it in the yard when we are having a party and the patio is being occupied with tables for food and chairs, sometimes we place it on the patio when it is just our family, and sometimes we move it into our cul-de-sac when we are having a neighborhood party. Plus we wanted a fire pit that we could move around something that is quite easy to do with Solo Stove. Honestly not at all! We never really used the old fire pit as a table - the center portion over the fire glass didn't seem sturdy enough to hold heavy items. Something that can be used as a table when not in use as a fire pit? Plus the lifetime warranty made it an easy decision! Hope that helps So for the amount of time we use it as a family, it was well worth the price. Lastly, it is on the pricey side ($500ish) but we use it probably use it 10-15x/year and we have had it for 2 years and it looks practically brand new. I bought it bc at our last house we had a fixed fire pit and I wanted the option to be able to move it around. With the base ring, the ground it sits on will not get hot, so we have placed it on grass, the driveway, the paver patio, and the street. Enough heat that my family begins to use it in early Spring when its still cool in the evenings and continues through the summer into late fall. We too have a SoloStove Yukon and absolutely love it!Īgree with above that it is large enough that you can fit a typical piece of firewood inside it with no problem and will hold 5-6 pieces easily.Īs for sitting around it, when you have it going well, it radiates heat easily 4-5 feet from the pit. ![]() Looks great! Is the outside surface hot to touch? I have mine on crushed stones off the deck. Came with a base or ring that you can place it on and supposedly you can use on decks or patios. You might consider looking up some examples, and using some decorative landscaping stone or bricks as protection for your deck. Their manuals often include those details in the installation instructions. Indoor wood stoves are subject to requirements for hearth and surround thickness and distance to combustibles. I assume the bottom is double-layered, but even with that, I'd think the manufacturers would want to discourage such use, or would instruct customers to place the firepit on top of a certain thickness of brick or stone. Having been limited on my choice of fireplace inserts due to hearth requirements in the building code, I'm a bit surprised to see fire pits like that pictured by the manufacturer sitting on a deck. we have Azec/Trex which is supposedly very sensitive to heat. ![]() I would say the heat is more vertical than horizontal, so you may sit a little closer than expected. Burns very hot, little smoke, and almost no ash at the end. We have the Solo Stove, I think it's the Bonfire size. ![]()
